The object of the game is to be the first player to correctly answer a set of questions that connect one side of the board to the opposite side. While trying to complete your own line of questions, you must try to block your opponent from completing a line. If you're playing alone, the computer is your opponent.

If your opponent blocks your line, you can continue to complete your set by answering questions in a path around the blocked square. You can work horizontally or vertically, but not diagonally. If neither player is able to complete a path to the opposite side, the winner is the player who has the most squares on the board.

The question box at the top of the screen tells you what to do. For example, it informs you whose turn it is to pick a category. The question box also displays questions, lets you know who won the game, and so on.

When it's your turn, click a square on the board and then click the answer to the question from the four choices listed at the right. You have three chances to get the correct answer. You must complete your guesses before the timer runs out.

If you correctly answer the question on your first try, you get the square and go again. If you correctly answer the question on your second try, you get the square, but it becomes your opponent's turn. If you correctly answer the question on your third try, you don't get the square, but it remains your turn. If you don't correctly answer the question after three tries, or if you run out of time, it becomes your opponent's turn.

Note: If you're playing against the computer, the computer takes its turn by claiming a square at random.

When the game is over, the winning squares are highlighted, the question box informs you which player won, and you can choose from the buttons: Play Again Using the Same Categories; Play Again, Choose New Categories; or Quit. If you choose to Quit, you return to the Video Store.
